Purpose

This pilot is for organisations that want more confidence in backup and recovery, but are not looking for a full redesign or managed service decision on day one. It is intended to validate that selected workloads can be restored in a controlled way, capture usable evidence, and identify the most important backup and recovery gaps before wider rollout.

A focused backup and restore review for a limited set of workloads, one environment, and an agreed test approach. Final scope is confirmed through intake and the engagement SoW.

Prerequisites

• Administrative access to the backup platform and restore targets
• A safe restore target, or an approved controlled production window by exception
• Named stakeholders available for validation and acceptance

Assumptions and boundaries

• One site or tenant, with a limited number of workloads in scope
• Change windows and communication expectations agreed in advance
• This pilot does not include a full backup estate redesign, DR buildout, or ongoing managed service
• The final engagement detail, scope, assumptions, and exclusions are confirmed in the SoW before work begins

• Backups that appear successful but are incomplete or not restorable
• No safe or practical restore target for testing
• Over-permissive admin access and weak role separation
• Recovery targets that are unrealistic for the current tooling or process
